GOSPEL OF JOHN!

Thanks shiyun for a variation on broken telephone...really tested our teamwork n ability to be detailed...hmmm did one grp owe us a forfeit?

# Flr ics: lingxin gave a very gd suggestion that each flr shld haf an ic to help me disseminate info. Future sms will be disseminated to them only n they will pass the msg on for me in whatever way they wish (sms, note on the door etc)

4. Bible Study
Overview of John

# Author: John, a disciple of Jesus
# Aim of writing this gospel: establish that Jesus is the Messiah, the Son of God; evangelistic
# Outline: abt Jesus' ministry. 2-12 (public ministry) 13-end (private ministry with disciples)

Understand that each of the gospel writer was not trying to write a biography of Jesus but through their selection of events, try to paint a potrait of Jesus that they met personally.

Why do we need to study the gospel of John?
# to be convinced that Jesus is the son of God, our Messiah
# to be able to evangelise to others with conviction
# to come to know this Jesus that we worship. When you know Jesus, then can you start falling in love with Him and be motivated to build a relationship with Him.

For the following weeks, come and meet this Jesus that John encountered!
